Join Catherine Hamilton, a professional artist, global birder and U.S Ambassador for Birding for ZEISS Sports Optics, on a morning hike! While working on birding tours, at wildlife refuges, research stations, museum collections, and her Los Angeles studio, Catherine has been following birds around the world.

While participating on this hike, you will get to borrow & share a state of the art pair of ZEISS Terra ED 42 binoculars! You will also receive a birding checklist and use of a beautiful bag that was donated to the Friends of Point Pelee in memory of Murray Millar.

Get to know your hike leader on Friday, May 3 at 7 pm (click here for details) as Catherine presents an around-the-world story of how an artist fell full-time into the world of professional birding. Illustrated with drawings, photos, and paintings, the lecture goes from NYC to LA, to Central and South America to Morocco and Nagaland, India, on a whirlwind of constant travel. Catherine set out to learn everything she could about bird species around the globe, but ended up finding deep connections to people and conservation efforts on a distinctly local level, wherever she visited.

Parking: Parking: Parking spaces near the Visitor Centre fill up quickly. We suggest arriving to the park at least 1 hour before your scheduled hike. You may be required to walk up to 2kms to reach the Visitor Centre.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the hike start time in order to receive a partial refund of $30/person (cost of hike less a $5 administration fee). Please contact 519-326-6173 if you need to cancel your registration.
