Hike Leader, Presenter
About Leader
Emma Burbidge is a Resource Management Officer at Point Pelee National Park. Having grown up with Gatineau Park in her backyard, she was fortunate enough to develop a deep love for nature as well as a strong commitment to protecting it. A lifelong birder, Emma’s passion for wildlife led her to Point Pelee, where she began as a French bird hike leader for the Friends of the park. That role eventually led to a student position with the Visitor Experience team at the park and finally to a full-time role on the resource conservation team. Emma’s time at Point Pelee has been dynamic and diverse. Some days she is in the office managing ecological data, others she is in the field restoring habitats with hand tools, machinery and prescribed fire, and others still she is travelling across Canada to assist with emergency incident response. No two days are the same, but she is grateful that every day involves working to protect the park for future generations. She loves sharing her knowledge and passion, whether it’s through guided hikes, presentations, or simply chatting with visitors on the trails!
