Visitor Centre
A great place to start your visit. Our staff are on hand to answer your questions and you can board the shuttle to the Tip.
The centre is open from 7am to 5pm daily during the Festival of Birds. Washrooms and a water filling station are available even when the Visitor Centre is closed.
Visit the Birding Information Centre in the Visitor Centre. Talk to a birding expert about the day’s sightings, check the sightings board and ask your birding ID questions.
Washrooms
Washrooms are available at all picnic and beach areas and at the Visitor Centre and Tip Area. Accessible washrooms are available at Blue Heron, Northwest Beach, the Visitor Centre and the Tip.

Access for Persons with Disabilities
Point Pelee continues to improve services to visitors with disabilities. Accessible washrooms are available at Blue Heron, Northwest beach, the Visitor Centre and the Tip.
At DeLaurier and the Visitor Centre, you will find accessible parking and exhibits to explore. The shuttle to the Tip is accessible. Blue Heron picnic site and Northwest Beach also provide accessible parking, picnic tables and barbeques, access to the sandy beach at Northwest Beach.
A complimentary manual all-terrain wheelchair is available at the Visitor Centre. Contact the park to make a reservation.
Parking
Point Pelee National Park is easily accessible by car with a parking capacity of over 750 vehicles. Parking is available at the Visitor Centre, Marsh Boardwalk, DeLaurier and at all picnic and beach sites throughout the park.
The Tip area is accessible by shuttle, foot or bicycle during the Festival of Birds.
During the Festival of Birds, demand for parking near the Visitor Centre is high. As the parking spots are filled, the lots will be closed. Be prepared to park some distance from the Visitor Centre, and travel by foot or bike. You may also enjoy exploring other parts of the park north of the Visitor Centre, where parking is available. Park in designated areas only. Parking along the roadway is not permitted. Vehicles parked in non-designated areas may be ticketed and towed. To obtain a map indicating all parking facilities in the park, please, click here.
Birders Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast offers a continental style selection of hot and cold beverages and baked goods. Locally made “Birdseed” cookies and donuts are baked fresh and delivered each morning! 7:00 am through 11:00 am. You can smell the BBQ cooking by 11:00 am ready to serve local all beef hotdogs and sausages. Vegetarian choice will be available too.
The Friends of Point Pelee Volunteers wake up at the crack of dawn to provide daily food service for our guests that flock to rest and snack at the Visitor’s Centre throughout the Festival of Birds. Proceeds support the Friends of Point Pelee and Point Pelee National Park.
Shuttle to the Tip
6:00 am to 8:00 pm – May 1-22
Visitor Centre
For those who are unable or do not wish to walk or bike to the tip, a shuttle service is available, at no additional charge.
The shuttle leaves the Visitor Centre and travels 2 km (7 min) to the Tip’s outdoor exhibit and the tip tower. From the shuttle drop off you can walk to the most southern tip of mainland Canada!
The shuttle travels continuously from the Visitor Centre to the Tip, and you can board approximately every 15 from either location.
The shuttle is wheelchair accessible and during the Festival of Birds stops at the Visitor Center, the Tip and at the Woodland Nature Trail head at the halfway point to the Tip.
The road south of the Visitor Centre is closed to all visitor vehicles (including motorcycles and scooters) and we ask that visitors walking on the road yield to the shuttle.

Camp Henry Campground Office
Our gift shop in the Camp Henry Campground Office is open from 9 am to 6 pm and operated by Parks Canada.

Nature Nook Gift Store
The Nature Nook Gift Store is located at the Visitor Centre and is operated by the Friends of Point Pelee. Store hours during the Festival are 7 am to 5 pm daily.
Items include:
- Exclusive Festival of Birds merchandise featuring the Bird of the Year, including lapel pins, t-shirts, hats, and magnets
- Souvenirs (Point Pelee postcards, patches, lapel pins and more)
- Birding resources including checklists and bird guides

Proceeds from sales in the Nature Nook Gift Store support park programs and restoration efforts.
Birding Information Centre
Birding information will be available in the Visitor Centre throughout the Festival of Birds.
Birders will have access to a sightings board and map during the Visitor Centre hours of operation (7 am to 5 pm). Birding experts will be on hand to help answer questions between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. Daily birding updates will be posted on the exterior doors of the Visitor Centre and to the bulletin board in the Festival tent by 3 pm daily.
